Karmin Schafer
International Award Winning Sculpture Artist
Karmin is a professional artist with over 30 years of experience, creating from her hometown of Manlius, New York. Trained as a painter, her creative journey has evolved into an exciting new direction: vibrant, color-bursting 3D wood sculptures that are unlike anything else in the contemporary art world.
Her latest body of work, LOST and FOUND, is inspired by the beauty of discarded wood shavings—tiny spirals of potential that she transforms into powerful, joyful expressions of movement and color. Each sculpture is handcrafted with precision and passion, using hand-dyed wooden reeds that Karmin curls, twists, and shapes one by one. Many of her pieces incorporate natural wood shavings from Irish Master Wood Carver Glenn Lucas, giving new life to what was once lost.
Driven by a deep sense of purpose, Karmin sees her creativity as a gift—one she nurtures with gratitude and intention. Her work is infused with optimism, energy, and a love for color that invites the viewer to feel wonder, joy, and connection.
Karmin dreams of one day creating a monumental outdoor sculpture that people can walk through and around, fully immersed in her world of curls and swirls. Until then, her one-of-a-kind wall sculptures continue to captivate collectors and art lovers, bringing a "wow" factor to every space they inhabit.
She also welcomes custom commissions to match your unique space, palette, or vision.

Dear Karmin,
My husband and I decided to give each other a piece of art this Christmas for our living room. So we spent quite some time looking for something that we both would fall in love with. And we found it, ordered it, received it in a huge wooden box and we opened it on Christmas Eve.
Your wooden art is amazing, the liveliness, the colours, the lightness, depth, movement of light in it… #42 moved in our home and right into our hearts!
Thank you four having created this and keep on bringing beauty into this world.
Merry Christmas to you from Frankfurt, Germany,
Sincerely,
Maria & Ralf Specht
